Just to clarify, I don't dislike Lotion. I just don't think they're
significantly different from (or better than) dozens of other groups on the
scene. I guess I expected more than what is, in my opinion, routine
goodness from a group Pynchon would endorse so enthusiastically -- something
extra-special, even magic. I bet I'm a little jealous, too, that they get
to hang out with him and I don't. Anyway, you're right, Tod. It's probably
not a very good reason to buy a tape (but if TRP came out raving about Jimmy
Dean sausage, don't tell me you wouldn't try just a wee taste . . .). I do
share his fondness for Monk, though.
