There's absolutely no reason to fear Dava Sobel's Longitude, which is not
about cartography so much as (surprise!) Longitude. It's concise,
interesting, easy to read, and available in an attractive 184 page Penguin
paperback priced at $10.95 US, $13.99 Canadian.

>>>>Hey, how come They got Us reading a book about longitude when the M&D Line is a latitude???? 39 degrees, 43 minutes, North. Probably there's a perfectly logical explanation. On the other hand if they can get you asking the wrong question . . .

				P. (here at 38 degrees, 56.70 minutes, North, 077 degrees, 04.31 minutes, West, measured a minute ago by GPS, which means if my arithmetic is correct, I'm only 46.3 nautical miles South of the good old Mason and Dixon Line.)
