My autographed copy of Wayne Booth's the Rhetoric of Irony, which Mr. Booth
sent to me after Alex Cockburn and I wrote a series of articles in The
Nation and the Washington Post that stripped the green cloak off of Booth's
upstream Utah neighbor Robert Redford to reveal underneath the stoney heart
of a developer and rapist of Nature.

Mr. Booth has some interesting things to say about how to decode irony in
written works.
