As longs as we're on the topic of books that got us into reading, does
anyone out there recall a mystery series by the collective name of The
Happy Hollisters? It was a series about a group of brothers and sisters
who solve all manner of community mysteries. My mother got them for me
through a book club. After reading over a dozen of these I graduated into
the Hardy Boys.
