No, the hippies are "gonna make it." Because they live off the land,
off the earth, which, we are previously told, is a very special thing.
There the people- especially the women- are free. But the pair push on to
New Orleans, where the women are expensive and imprisoned between the
stones. Like everyone in the city. In any city.
In other words, it's all straight sixties hippie-ism.
