If you want to see the exhibiton you'd better hurry because it has been on for
some timeand is ending by end of month or even of current week (can't find
that leaflet with all the particulars), the closing date was supposed to be Feb.
22nd or 29th.
Anyway the place is The Musee- Galerie de la SEITA (that's a tobacco company,
formerly state owned but recently privatized)) rue SURCOUF(10 or 12 the
number),round the corner of Rue de Grenelle on your right when coming from the
Metro station, 2 or 3 blocks away (Invalides, several lines stopping there).
If you're going through Paris be sure to see Chris Marker's latest movie _ Level
Five_whiich has just been released. It deals with history, mass suicides in
Okinawa in 1945, new technologies and how they influence and modify the life of
a young woman who is in charge of the final development of a video game.Neither
fiction nor document, something outstanding and surprising. No doubt some
Plisters will have lots of interesting insights to provide in due time when
they see it. The most-of-the--time-lurker-on-the-list I am can hardly wait.
There is a web site for the film (in French) at
http://www.cineweb.fr/level5/l5.intro.html
Some still pictures are shown together with related material and links
However when I visited it 2 days ago I had some problems with the site, I
couldn't get to Marker's interview promised in the contents page, for example,
and some of the links worked strangely, I seemed to get lost in some kind of
Japanese quizz but had no time to stay longer (plenty of papers to grade, just
like tonight).
If you're in Paris on Monday, we might arrange a meeting. If interested send a
message to my private email
