1st edition GR

I have a first edition, too, though not in pristine condition. The guy who
sold it to me said it was only read by a little old lady on Sundays (no
offense to any senior citizens on the list).

Actually, the book was a wedding present from my wife 13 years ago. She
bought it for $150. I just checked the Powell's Books website and they have
a copy for $550 (you can order on-line if anyone's interested).

About quantity, I heard that only 3000 hardcover first editions were
printed. Not sure how many were simultaneously released in paperback. I'm
guessing the print run of M&D will far exceed this number.
