Niall's corrected me on my quote here, nad reminded me that read in 
context it's not the affectionate tribute to TRP that I thought it 
might be. Morals of the story:

(1) Don't post to the list until you've read what everyone has had 
      to say on a subject, Craig! You end up with egg on your face...
(2) Don't post based on recollections of a book you read a decade 
     ago..
