I think the first of his books I read about 35 years ago was titled "The 
Messiah". A new religion starting based on suicide... Don't recall ever 
seeing it in a book store. Am I dreaming this? hmmmm. Strange what 
interesting paths my brain is taking now... And no illegal substances for 
over 10 years...

It seemed to me at the time that the main character was similar to John 
Galt. I'll go do a library search.
