The future of the list?

The same thought was in my mind as I composed the "Facts of Online Life."

I'm not well-versed in the capabilities of listserves, etc. My preference
is always for greater choice, and freedom of expression. Might it be possible
to have both a moderated and an unmoderated list? The moderated being only
a subset of the unmoderated, of course, so that someone's choice to
participate in the unmoderated list wouldn't prevent them from seeing some
postings.
