M&D -- other pairings (no spoiler)

So far, we've had suggestions for other 'pairings' after which M & D are
modelled: Rosencrantz & Guildenstern, Laurel & Hardy. Anthony Lane comes up
with an interesting one in his New Yorker review: he suggests Beckett's
Mercier & Camier. I had thought about the more obvious Didi & Gogo from
_Godot_ ...
(Lane's review is one of the more perceptive and sympathetic ones I've read
yet).
Cheers,
Paul
