GR to M&D filmic moment

In The Glenn Miller Story--1953--starring Jimmy Stewart & June Allyson 
there's a particularly prescient Pynchonian progression late in the film. 
Miller is entertaining the Allied troops in wartime England when a 
screaming comes across the sky--air raid sirens commence &--thats right 
you guessed it--a V2 rocket comes flaming into frame with a nice George 
Pal type effec. theres the signal sputter & choke as the propellent cuts 
& it spirals to earth with everybody in the audience takin cover while 
the band continues to play with Jimmy/Glenn trombone in hand heroic 
mugging at the bandstand. the bomb explodes with a rock the the camera 
effect--Miller cues the band & they pick it up as if the blast were part 
of the composition--the crowd goes wild--wow what a brave bandleader. cut 
to the very next scene--he's at another show introducing The Modernaires 
with Frances Langford who takes the mic and sez after giving Miller a 
peck on the cheek--I think I'll start by taking you all on a trip south 
of the Mason-Dixon line on that old Chatanooga Choo Choo. 

Great stupid film with snatches of Louis Armstrong & Gene Krupa. it spans 
the 20s to the 40s but everybody's always dressed Edith Head 50s. check 
it out.
