Which brings to mind the great Franchot Tone vehicle, Frank Borsage's 
3 Comrades- where the homoerotic passions are channelled through the 
emaciated form of Margaret Sullavan. 8 out of ten hankies as MS 
deliberately triggers a massive (and fatal)  internal hemmorage, in 
order to spare the comrades from their beard's astronomical 
sanatorium bills.
