But somewhere in these last few weeks (I can't find the passage right
now),
I ran across something like this, which in my memory is referring to
*Pointsman*, not Rosz: "[the state of war is about to be abridged and
reconstituted as a peace, and what has he gotten out of it?]" Which
certainly makes it seem to me like the fellow under discussion has been
in
the war effort with an eye toward personal gain.
