GRGR(5): sources on metaphor and allegory

Since metaphor and metonym have a kind of reciprocal relation to each
other my intuition tells me they should be particularly important in the
circular and backtracking episodes. Haven't really thought this out
(though I'm sure someone else must have). The Mendoza and the Haakbus are
both objects standing for the efficient infliction of death. However the
way they are tied together through the word "crochet" portrays the
similarity between Pirate's and Franz's activites. (a first approximation)
