Kubrick

I have a recording of "Bicycle Built For Two" from a German 'history of
Electronic Music' CD from Columbia/Princeton that is apparently the first
time a computer digitally 'sang' something. So when Hal is doing it,
Kubrick/Clarke are just noting history.

I always felt that Kubrick's films would be nothing without the sound
design. Even Strangelove chills that way (the final bomb ride-- silence
except for the wind and the screaming, crazy), and of course 2001 is
mostly silence.. perfect. Even in EWS, with piano line... bbrrr.
