Yeah, and it's probably applicable here, too (being genderless ref., I
mean).  I was just trying to iron out an argument that I myself am not to
clear on.  What I suggesting is that P. perhaps speaks of lit interp in
masculine terms in GR.  And if that is the case and if the "hands down the
pants" line is said in regard to interp (these are all big ifs), then the
"you" is potentially masculine.  I don't think our man P. is a sexist or
anything like that, I'm just agreeing (ultimately) with the suggestion that
the "you"s may vary.

The CHips thing has always creeped me out: my brother and I used to think
Paunch and John were the coolest when we were kids; we wanted pants with a
stripe down the side of 'em, but mom said no.  (There's no accounting for
taste.)
