'Pi' Question

I think he has not only fully understood the secret (silent, sacred) name of God, but he has seen the face of God and we all know what that'll do to you. See Exodus 33:12-23. Personally, I think a labotomy and the epiphany that one's self (ego, existant, being) need be put to death is one in the same.
This is one of the finest movies I've ever seen. I had to go out and buy my own copy over the weekend simply because I thought of it on Friday.

Hey all--

I watched 'pi' again last night. Does Max Cohen reach nirvana or is he the
victim of a self-lobotomy? (or are they one and the same)
the ending is very ambigious. His smile at the end can be construed both
ways.
