On this date in 1314, the Scots under their king Robert the Bruce defeated the English at Bannockburn. Too bad that didn't finish the matter and the Scots were not rid of the oppressors until September 1997, and not fully even then. We all have mixed ancestry, and a good part of mine is Scottish.
