the first time you read GR, and if you had already read Malcom X, you might have
said, “ hey, this guy Pynchon is ripping off Huxley) of Jack and X.

So, maybe Ick Regis sends flashes of America again--Long, Huey Pierce (The
KingFish—Assasinated?

Maybe not. But the dog metaphors open another story—Melville’s very short story
(3-5), “Charles’s Isle and the Dog-King.
