I think I'd frame this a bit differently. According to press coverage,
based on his reputation as a Holocaust denier, apologist for the Nazi
regime, and friend to  neo-Nazis, publishers have chosen not to publish his
books. Certainly scholars have the right to comment on Irving's work and to
counter his views. If he makes an ass of himself when he writes or opens
his mouth, he has nobody but himself to blame for the consequences.
