I found the clips of Irving being pelted with eggs on his way to court 
quite disturbing. Those doing the tossing were likely punks who 
would have been just as pleased to don a brown or black shirt and 
pitch rocks at jews, or pakistanis or any other marginalized group.

As much as I vehemently disagree with what Irving has to say, let 
him air it and face the consequences of studied 
responses.....There is something of the travails of Yakov Bok 
(Malamud's Fixer, about 2/3rds through it, and I recommend it) in 
the affair Irving....
