I agree.  From most accounts, before Hitler, anti-semitism in Germany was no 
worse & in some areas much less virulent than in other places, especially 
Eastern Europe.  This is what makes it all the more shocking & perhaps feeds 
the denial that is rampant in places like England &  the USA.
