Are you sugeesting that "politics and history" are NOT particularly relevant to
(a reading of) Gravity's Rainbow? Or that the V-books are not in any way
"postmodern" and/or "self-referential"? Or that one can, much less should,
separate a discussion of any of Pynchon's novels? Though I can't comment on
tarot ... and not that Pynchon's texts have necessarily been discussed in any
great detail in the short time I've been on this list (no, not complaining, just
an observation, and I will admit to not taking the time to join in the quite
interesting and perhaps necessary discussions of fine textual details being
carried on, er, "here") ... but I could do with a return to both V. and
Vineland, which I'm ashamed to admit I've yet to return to ...
