To repeat myself from February, I recommend _Leap Year_ (at least for those 
interested in the upcoming US presidential election).  The 1989 book is a 
mix of fact and fiction about the 1988 presidential election.  With a cast 
that includes Bush Sr. and Gore, the parallels with the current campaign are 
almost eerie.  The surreal Tipper and Al riffs are especially entertaining.  
Sally Heming has a significant role as well.

As for Erickson in general, I find him a mixed blessing.  I found
_Arc d'X_, for example, an almost equal mix of intriguing and irritating.
