This is simply not true. There were no attempts to negotiate. Even when the
Taliban cried Uncle after the first few days of bombing, Bush told them
essentially 'fuck you.'
I did read the article, Jbor. Two and three times in fact. But perhaps
you're right--I didn't understand it fully. The closing confused me some.
He seems almost to contradict what he says in the beginning. It's hard to
know where he stands exactly. Did you notice that? Perhaps you could
explain it to me. To us.

No, I don't mean to drown out your viewpoints. I've asked any number of
times for stuff on your 'viewpoint.' I welcome your article. Don't be
fooled by my criticism. Look, it spurred me to write a whole page. It
enticed me to recollect what I learned from all the Noam Chomsky speeches
I've been listening to lately, and Michael Parenti and Howard Zinn and Johan
Galtung and Farid Esack (all currently on DemocracyNow!) They're all
brilliant! and they all say we're 'blowing' it. It's nothing personal to
you, though, Jbor. And aside from the little Doug-being-on-holiday crack, I
directed my thoughts to the author, McKnight, not to you. It's not my
intent to drown anybody out. If anything I'm bringing people out--I know
now when I post something controversial on the P-List, I get a whole host of
mean or otherwise thoughtful responses.
