Suggestions

Deferential, glad to be of use.  Off the top of my
head, I'd recommend Edward Mendelson's "Gravity's
Encyclopedia" (in both the Bloom GR anthology and in
Leverenz and Levine) and Khachig Tolyolyan's, "War as
Background in Garvity's Rainbow" (Clerc), though I'd
be curious as to what others might recommend here. 
And these should have bene mentioned as well ...

in GR, from his The Great War and Modern Memory (q.v.)
is excerpted in the Bloom GR anth. as well.  Might be
of some assitance there.  I met Paul Fussell a couple
of years back.  His wife walked up to me and asked if
I'd seen her husband, Paul Fussell, as if it'd be
expected that I'd recognize him.  She just happened to
ask the right person ...
