not really--delillo, for moi, is a writer I go to again and again simply for 
the language--always wanted him to write a long one and he did--parts of the 
middle section sag, for sure, but the beginning and the end are quite 
remarkable.

One could say the same of Gass's Tunnel--one could be just as entranced by 
Gass' use of language in an even more plot-less book--but The Tunnel doesn't 
resonate w/ me--feel Gass is too academic, but that's only a personal 
prejudice.
