A boring correction:
Not true, Jerky. You present me with a case of attempted murder. Attempted
brainwashing/propagadizing would be the parallel. I (and Otto) never said
the government/establishment hasn't attempted to brainwash/propagadize, only
that Chomsky has overrated their success.
>From: Jerky David,
>If you snuck up behind somebody and pulled a carpet-knife across his throat
>with the intention of ending his life, and somehow he miraculously made his
>way to a hospital, got stitched up and survived, would you say his
>allegation that you tried to murder him didn't hold water? Because that's
>the exact same kind of logic you're using in the statement below.

>>I think you are just plain ignoring the point Otto's making about
>>Chomsky's "Propaganda American Style" article. The "counter-culture" and
>>the anti-war movement may have been products of the failure of the
>>Vietnam-war, but they still flew directly against government/establishment
>>intentions, and thus Chomsky's alleged US propaganda machine was at best
>>impotent. That was Otto's point: Chomsky's allegations don't hold water.
