Herr Otto:

Why in the world would you expect me to "politely" respond to your scabrous and
ill-informed assault on my story? Would you expect me to be as "polite" as you
were underhanded in your "critique"? Is there some inverse relationship here
that I'm ridiculously unaware of? Train your slimey back-channel musings on a
story by Cockburn next time and let's see how "politely" HE responds. It would
be one thing if you were a reader of CounterPunch. But you're just freeloading
off the Pynchon list.

I guess you've grown accustomed to the tamed liberal lapdogs on the Pynchon
list, who have apparently let you and the other foot soldiers in the Neo-Con
Lit Crit goon squad, trample them under foot without a bleat of protest. Well,
tough luck dude. When you're called to task for defending a fascist snot like
Johnson, stand up and take it like man. Don't start sniveling about manners;
you're beginning to sound like Dick Cheney after being caught w/ his hand in
Ken Lay's pants. It's not a sound that anyone would want on their resume.
