Okay, thanks for the clarification, and I'll note that
you've at least not been insulting, so far as I've
noticed. But the nigh-unto-assault on that interview
has involved a flurry of activity on any number of
fronts, with people raising (often, legitimate,
granted) questions which they nonetheless do not seem
to have attempted to even begin to find answers for,
which, coupled with the insults routinely thrown at
Doug along the way, read to me for all the world as as
much an attempt to discredit Doug as to perhaps
discredit that interview as well (and why? was it
something Pynchon might indeed have said?). Me, I'm
surprised as well that fans here often seem to hold
political views at odds with what I consider to be
those apparent in those Pynchonian texts, but ... but,
hey, I can read T.S. Eliot or Ezra Pound or Wyndham
Lewis or Louis-Ferdinand Celine or ... with interest,
despite my own politics. But I would note that Doug
is merely the most overt--or, at least, the most
prolificf, at least in this regard--of those here
apparently claiming Pynchon for "their" side, and much
of this arguent is being staged with those with
similar agendas. I do not include you in this regard,
Otto ...
