Possible Source?

Pedro Páramo is one of the best novels in Spanish written this century.
I am glad to know that some of its greatness comes across even in
translation. I think that the language is one of the key elements in
the novel, and I always feared it would not be that good in translation.

As a possible source for Thomas Pynchon, I really can't say. I find
similarities in the way Thomas Pynchon treats the fantastic in his
novels and the way Juan Rulfo wrote Pedro Páramo, but I can't say much
more.

Saludos, Juan.
