jbor,

The fact is as you know very well, I never did or said
anything to influence Pynchon Notes in any way about
your article.

Prof. Krafft knows this, and you know it. For you to
challenge the truth of my denials, and to cast doubt
publicly on Prof. Krafft's word after he wrote to
Pynchon-L to put this slander to rest, is truly
galling -- your behavior verges on the unbelieveable.

I'm keeping this offlist because I know that these
back-and-forth exchanges between you and me have
angered many P-listers, and I want to respect their
wishes not to be exposed to this sort of thing
anymore.

The facts are that you did viciously attack Charles
Hollander on Pynchon-L and during that same period you
wrote to people offlist to accuse Hollander and I of
computer hacking or some such; more than a few people
commented upon your nasty behavior at that time.
That's not slander because it is true.

Your suggestion (made first by "cathyramirez69", then
you, then Mackin, now Morris, that I made some effort
to diminish your chances of publishing your article at
PN) -- that's slander because your allegation is not
true, it's completely false.

I'm not sure why you're going out of your way to
continue to involve Prof. Krafft in your quest for
revenge because I had the nerve to publicly say what
so many P-listers were feeling back then: why on
earth would you go to such lengths to insult and
ridicule one P-lister after another (Hollander,
Terrance, a whole slew of newbies, and so on).

I'm copying Prof. Krafft here because he knows the
truth -- that I never said anything or did anything
with regard to your article at PN. I believe Prof.
Krafft was also reading Pynchon-L at the time of your
attack on Hollander and my response at that time. Yes
I had some harsh things to say to you at that time,
but your behavior was appalling, and the vile trash
you were talking about a fellow Pynchon scholar had to
be stopped.

Your blatant disregard for the truth is disgusting. I
will no longer reply to your charges on Pynchon-L,
because even the plain statement of facts --
corroborated by a person in a position to know the
facts -- does not seem to deter you from spreading
lies about me. The people who follow Pynchon-L
closely know what's true, no matter how much you,
Mackin, "Morris", Terrance continue to lie about me --
your pack behavior is sophomoric, accounting for a
huge percentage of the posts published on Pynchon-L.

Pynchon Notes is a publication to which I have
contributed considerable support, in many different
ways, and it disturbs me that you persist in
slandering me in a way that has the potential to
tarnish PN's reputation. Look at what "David Morris"
is saying now -- even after Prof. Krafft's statement,
"Morris" continues to spread the gossip, started by
"cathyramirez69" then amplified by you, that I somehow
"lobbied" PN to prevent publication of your article,
that I should be "censured" for it.

You owe me an apology, jbor, and you should make a
clear statement to Pynchon-L affirming the facts:
that I never did anything at Pynchon Notes with regard
to your article.

I can't do anything about it if you want to continue
deny your past behavior on Pynchon-L (esp. your attack
on Hollander and offlist email campaign accusing us of
computer hacking) -- but such behavior on your part
is clearly malicious and reprehensible. For now, I'm
not going to respond to you on Pynchon-L, but if you
continue to lie about me, I reserve the right to offer
the truth.

Sincerely,
Doug Millison
