Inspectors could only go where they were permitted by Iraq, and with
advance warning. The inspections were ineffective, which is why I don't
trust another inspection regime and you shouldn't either.

Your work there being done. The poor woman. One imagines the discussion
over the kitchen table, the both of you weeping into your tea and
pledging to work for peace, and holding hands. Is that how it was? "I'm
a Woman, I'm a Democrat, and I'm a Catholic!" and so she would
ordinarily be expected to support a war on the basis of those three
labels? She is still a good patriot. But she is wrong.
And I'm glad neither of you is in a position of responsibility.
