Yet Kabbalah is essentially concerned with balance.  Each Sefiroth is
emblematic of various qualities and attributes but the emphasis is on each
others opposite influence and force.  Thus Chesed is indeed Lovingkindness,
of giving without limits.  And here Kabbalah would indicate this might also
be indiscreet.  So the opposite and balancing Sefiroth of Gevurah on left of
the Tree of Life represents Judgment and Severity. Which informs Chesed
exactly how much to give.  Like poring water into a glass unless you are
aware of the size of the glass you'll just keep on poring and the overflow
is waste.  So Kabbalah says giving indiscriminately in spite of the best
intentions can be waste.
