That's why I've quoted that part!
The way it is said here seems to imply that Thomas Piltz had convinced
Pynchon that the title "Gravity's Rainbow" is "somewhat meaningless"
which of course is nonsense.
I guess they've convinced him that "Der Regenbogen der Schwerkraft"
simply wouldn't "sound" that good (a little bit clumsy) in German as
"Die Enden der Parabel" does.
For me it is always a reminder that the translation really is a
different text.
I wonder who's going to try "Cloud Atlas"!
