What an agreeable list! My daughter got me reading Stephenson, and Girl with Curious Hair is one of my favorites. DFW's voices make me want to read the stories aloud. I like the sentiment of the last sentence of your message there, Inky.

John Barth's The Sot-weed Factor (hilarious), vol 3 of Stephenson's Baroque series- The System of the World (possibly the best thing I've read in years), and Foster-Wallace The Girl with the Curious Hair (shorts). up next- Gaddis The Recognitions, and yet another run of Giles Goat-boy. In the pile, John Crowley The Navigator & Helprin's Memoir from Antproof Case.
Glad to see so many great titles I recognize, even happier to see some I don't....... Inky
