great, hardly my friend but thx. anyway
I'm very much disappointed with the pinched world view of these
writers--it's as if there is only the mind and its perceptions in the novels
of the anointed--post underworld delillo, frazen, moody.
vollman is quite sui generis but I agree with others comments--he writes
better fiction as nonfiction--no poet he.
I think Banville still has it and can get away with the singular narrator
because he is a poet (as I would argue is Pynchon)
I'm reading Jean Stafford's collection of short stories which I'm enjoying
quite alot. when the New Yorker published stories worth reading
