In the Black Dahlia I thought he got post-war L.A. down quite well.  
Made a few minor technical slips now and then like  having the Herald  
Express newspaper coming out in morning.

He was born in '47, the year  of the famous murder.

A grisly question asked at the time was, who made Elizabeth Short.
