862..her way of saying "Vlado is immortal", etc.......
  Good Yashmeen wants to believe material determinism, so to spead, that hopelessness OBA had Vlad in a few pages back, more hopeless than a gun in one's head with immediate intent, is not the case......that no matter how hopeless it looks for Vlado, he 'can take care of himself"  or even if dead, he will be immortal.
   
  And Pynchon wheels the notion into the action as--those wheels again, from the Ferris wheels [Earl's Court; World's Fairs], through the mandalas thru the buddhist Wheel of Becoming, all rolled up, so to speak in his layered, allusive, metaphoric, allegoric way.....
  I say...................overcome the law of determinism, the house odds...................
