"Most of it, happily, is chase scenes, for which I remain
a dedicated sucker---it is one piece of puerility I am
unable to let go of. May Road Runner cartoons never
vanish from the video waves, is my attitude."

daffy: "consequences, shmonsequences as long as I'm rich"
Joe Allonby:
That was a great Daffy Bugs short.
Bugs represents American resilience, pragmaitism, and
cleverness. The positive self-image of the post-WWII
country.
Daffy is all self-interest, venality and greed.
"Try to imagine how little I care."
"It's mine, mine mine, all mine!"
I love Daffy. But I prefer the Chuck Jones iconic version to the
frenetic Tex Avery version.
Perhaps, but Tex is responsible for one of the great
Zen Masters of American cinema:

Chuck Jones: an American artistic genius. . . .
Warner Bros had it all over Disney.
For pure cinematic eye-candy, very little even gets close to Pinocchio:

There's also a division between the winners and/or
good-guys (Mickey, Bugs, Jerry) and the hapless
losers (Daffy, Tom, etc.) Presumably we're meant
to cheer for and identify with the former?
Maybe, but we all identify with the Rodney Dangerfield within Sylvester:
