Based on the 'natural' section breaks provided by the novel, Atdtda29 can be
subdivided as follows:
57.1
Trieste. Theign produces a map and Cyprian complains. Theign tells Cyprian
he can 'annex' Bevis "if you feel you need a bodyguard" (806-807).
57.2
Vienna. Yashmeen is bewildered to find her Jewishness = expulsion (807-808).
57.3
Graz. Ratty demonstrates his knowledge of Balkan politics; Cyprian gropes
for a phrase (808 810).

>From Vienna to Trieste, via Graz, Yashmeen on the move (811).
57.5
Venice. Theign looks ridiculous but gives up the chase, departing for
Vienna, as does Cyprian for Trieste to meet Yashmeen (811-812).

Trieste. Cyprian and Yashmeen discuss Theign's penis (812-813).

Trieste. Another Cyprian-Yashmeen parting (813-815).

Trieste. Yashmeen relapses into her old Zetamania and meets Vlado Clissan

Sarajevo. A choral discussion of history, followed by a meeting with Danilo
Ashkil; finding a pale and sybaritic youth, Danilo offers him a history

Sarajevo. Cyprian and the Russians Misha and Grisha enjoy a rendition of
Auld Lang Syne (829-831).

Sarajevo. As Bevis is disillusioned, Cyprian has a close-up view of the
Colonel's decline (831-832).

Sarajevo. Cyprian and Bevis enjoy a Laurel and Hardy moment (832).

Having left Sarajevo by train, Cyprian and Danilo lose Bevis but make an
unscheduled stop at Lasva, where they find two new friends, Batko and Senta,
who warn them off rail travel (833-835).

On foot, Cyprian and Danilo go for an unscheduled run (835-836).
