so I ask myself, why school of Squarcione?
Apparently Squarcione, a tailor, loved ancient art so much
that he became an artist, founded a school or workshop...

To Mantegna, his favorite pupil, he taught Latin and encouraged
him to study ancient art as well.

The sort of mentorship that Vibe hoped to have with Kit;

also - some Adorno type of reflections similar to those
expressed by Tancredo about the difference between the
community of painters, the living apprenticeships (the manly
love loss of which's lamented in GR)
compared to the way Vibe just buys them with his ill-gotten gains...

even the incident of buying one for a song - the seller perhaps
showing a magnificent generosity, but Vibe taking him for a mere loon

and shuffling off the task of actually singing (making a joyful noise) onto
his effects man...
