Which leads into Stravinsky's Rite of Spring - virgins and all.   He  
had the idea in 1910 but it wasn't on stage until 1913 when it about  
caused a riot.  I don't know if anyone said the music died but they  
did say later that it was a foreshadowing of WWI.
