I started on 'Vineland' ag'in last week but, sadly, needed somethin'
heavier-- somethin' *new.*
And as the present election might indicate, ain't been much new on the Tube
in the last two
years, outsid'a the occasional 'Venture Bros.' or 'Doctor Who'... Hell, it's
gotten to where I
barely even watch *movies* anymore. Too much layin' unfinished on the
drawin' board for me
to indulge in mindless pleasures.

Anyway, knee-deep in 'Mason & Dixon' now & expect to be right up 'til the
election. But may
well revert to 'Vineland' afterward... If only because I'm sending Dad a
copy as repayment for
when I was seventeen and he handed me a copy of 'Fear & Loating in Las
Vegas'. I owe the
ol' bugger that much, and I'd like to think that despite our basic failures
to communicate, we
might be readin' the same thing for the same reasons.
