Well, yeah, sure. By the way I said 'mental fug', not 'fog'. BUt you know what I mean. Speaking for myself, I sometimes had trouble concentrating on very simple matters whilst even a bit stoned. I know some people can 'maintain' better than others, it's just I can't think of *too* many instances in IV where Doc's ability to operate is significantly compromised in a way which can really only be ascribed to weed. A lot of stuff, like not being able to remember whether he had eaten in Las Vegas, or who paid the bill, is not particularly THC-specific is it? In fact memory loss, altered perception of reality, inability to ascertain whetehr you;ve been thinking or speaking, could arguably be regarded as more likely to result from other substances, eg. LSD, and by ewxtension, might not really be drug-related at all.

Again, I;m just speculating. I mean, I wrote a review of IV in which I mentioned Doc's 'discombobulation' and 'heroic weed intake' but the pile-up of review after review stating Doc is 'stoned all teh time' made me start questioning that view. And it would be a typically Pynchonian trick, n'est pas?
