I want to point to and recommend Rob Scheffield's review of Inherent Vice
in Rolling Stone, which seems not to be online.............

Wonderfully appreciative; nicely written...confesses he took a number of tries to read GR....BUT says just read TRP straight-ahead, especially not forgetting to laugh, LAUGH, laugh---I think of Robin
making this case again and again. And others. Yeahp.

A--and, he says one can feel the warm humanity underneath all his books, even GR......

I say one can feel it and point to it............
