You could be right there - all it says,  (pg 242) is " -  at some  
point she had to go up in front of his Grand Jury in a city days  
distant where trolley cars ran beneath grimy black webbing that  
stretched in all directions all converging in a desert yellow plaza  
downtown the cars painted yellow a shade sunnier than the pavement  
and trimmed in some tepid green ..."

But when could that have happened?  She was taken almost directly to  
the compound and then DL finally actually sprung her,  got onto I-80  
and landed  in Mexico in the same sentence.  But then they were out  
of Mexico again within  a few days and DL dropped  Frenesi off at  
Nogales - so maybe there could have been a Grand Jury convocation at  
some point not too long after that?
