First Edition GR for Sale

A northeast Connecticut Bookseller has the two editions and internal Viking
Publisher correspondence for sale as a set for $10,000.
I saw it in the shop a few years ago and then tripped over it looking for an
audio version of GR for my car recently
It was a fun package to rummage page through but obviously no one has
been willing to pony up the $10K...yet. The bookseller's background on the
origin of the material was very believeable.
I bought my first copy as one of the very first Trade paperback "orginals"
at Saville Bookshop, Georgetown, Washington, D.C. The paperback section
manager was unaware of its planned publication but looked it up in
Books-in-Print for me and reserved a copy. Of course by the time it pubbed
it was huge and they did gold rush business on it.

I've seen the "fund-raiser" authographed edition for sale on line before and
don't believe it. I don't have any evidence either way but it just sounds
suspect.
