OK, pardon my "conflated" lines. I wonder why you bothered to sketch an answer though. No need for it really.
Yet, to get back to my point, you still avoid to answer my dilemma. Perhaps you are incapable of doing so.

As Le Carre clearly associates Bond with 'gangsterism', I still wonder if you think that gangsterism, as long as is fighting 'totalitarians', is, according to you morally acceptable. It seems it is, I dare say, as you indirectly applaud 'gangster' Bond for his anti-totalitarian stance. Yet you seem to be at loss when it comes to justify the rationale behind it. I am not responsible for your muddled thoughts so the cheap trick of insinuating I am calling you names is really a puerile diversion. It does not amount to an answer.
Personally I think that 'gangsterism' and totalitarianism are closely related. So, how can you fight something/someone that is closely related to you?
Unless it is a fratricide-like fight. Quite absurd. That is why Bond is in many respects an absurd, lifeless, counterfeited, artificial character.
No wonder LeCarre dislikes him so intensely and rightly so.
Anyway...

Your name-calling crazy-talk conflation barely deserves an answer.
How can you read Pynchon and not appreciate the nuances of appropriate
actions.
